Ocean disappears in the Gulf of Thailand
The strange phenomenon is back. A strong water receding was reported along several beaches situated in the Gulf of Thailand. According to residents, such a strong tidal phenomenon – with water disappearing over more than 2 kilometers away – wasn’t experienced in the last 20 years.
Such mysterious water disappearances were recently reported around the world… And scientists have no ideas about what is causing the strange phenomenon.

The Most Powerful Storm on Earth Is Bearing Down on Japan and the coast of China I think it’s time to retire Maria as a name for any storm. The name has been wiped from the hurricane list in the Atlantic after Hurricane Maria completely upended life in the Caribbean. But it’s still on the rolls in the Pacific, where Typhoon Maria is about to make life miserable. The storm has ping-ponged between being the equivalent of a Category 4 and Category 5 storm since late last week. Maria could clip Japan’s Ryukyu Islands and Taiwan before slamming into China’s central coast on Wednesday, dumping heavy rains along the way. That could be a huge issue in Japan, which is already reeling from historic flooding that’s left at least 109 dead and 2 million ready to evacuate.

Tropical Storm "Chris" to become a hurricane off the coast of North Carolina, US
Tropical Storm "Chris" formed July 8, 2018, off the coast of Carolinas, US as the 3rd named storm of the 2018 Atlantic hurricane season. Further strengthening is expected while it meanders off the coast of the Carolinas.
At 9:00 UTC (05:00 EDT) on July 9, the center of Tropical Storm "Chris" was located 320 km (200 miles) SSE of Cape Hatteras, North Carolina. The system has maximum sustained winds of 95 km/h (60 mph) and is moving S at 2 km/h (1 mph). Its minimum central pressure is 999 hPa.
There are currently no coastal watches or warnings in effect but interests along the coast of North Carolina should monitor its progress.
Chris is expected to remain nearly stationary during the next day or so, followed by northeastward motion late Tuesday, July 10, and acceleration toward the northeast on Wednesday and Thursday, July 11 and 12.
